PARAMOUNT BED GroupBasic Policy on Customer Harassment

1. Introduction

The PARAMOUNT BED Group operates under its corporate philosophy:
“We Create Comfortable Healthcare Environments through Cutting-Edge Technology with a Human Touch”
Through the provision of products and services, we strive to contribute to healthier lives and a better quality of life for all people.
We have sincerely accepted and carefully considered the opinions, requests, and feedback received from our customers and have utilized them to improve our products and services. However, among customer behaviors and communications, any actions that exceed the bounds of what is socially acceptable and that undermine the dignity or respect of our employees may adversely affect a safe and comfortable working environment.
To maintain healthy and positive relationships with our customers while protecting the human rights and working environment of our employees, the PARAMOUNT BED Group has established this Basic Policy.

2. Definition of Customer Harassment

Based on the guidelines outlined by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, the PARAMOUNT BED Group defines customer harassment as follows:
“Demands or conduct by customers or other parties that lack reasonable grounds, or demands whose means or manner of implementation are socially unacceptable and that impair the working environment of employees.”

3. Examples of Customer Harassment

Examples of customer harassment include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Physical or psychological abuse (including assault, injury, threats, slander, defamation, insults, or abusive language)
• Intimidating words or actions
• Excessive demands for apologies (including demands for kneeling in apology)
• Restrictive conduct (including refusal to leave, prolonged occupation of premises, confinement, or persistent and repetitive complaints or demands)
• Discriminatory or sexually inappropriate remarks or behavior
• Personal attacks, unreasonable demands, or defamatory statements directed at individual employees
• Posting or publishing employees’ personal information (including photographs, videos, or audio recordings) on social media platforms or the Internet
• Unreasonable demands for products, services, monetary compensation, refunds, or other benefits without legitimate grounds

The above examples are illustrative only and do not constitute an exhaustive list of customer harassment.

4. Our Response to Customer Harassment

The PARAMOUNT BED Group will continue to provide sincere, courteous, and customer-oriented services under our brand message:
“WELL-BEING for all beings”
However, if conduct is determined to constitute customer harassment, we will place the highest priority on protecting the safety, dignity, and human rights of our employees and will respond firmly as an organization.
If no improvement in behavior is observed, we may, as necessary, discontinue the provision of products or services or suspend future business transactions.
In cases where conduct is deemed malicious or criminal, we will work with the police, legal counsel, and other external experts and take appropriate measures, including legal action where necessary.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
