Paramount Bed Holdings Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Koto-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Tomohiko Kimura; hereinafter “the Company”) is pleased to announce that the Bawal Factory operated by its Indian-based group company, Paramount Bed India Pvt. Ltd. (hereinafter “PIN”), located in Bawal, Haryana, India, has received Gold certification under the IGBC Green Factory Building Rating, a green building certification system in India.

The certification assesses facilities comprehensively based on factors such as energy efficiency, water resource management, material usage, and indoor environmental quality, and is awarded to facilities that meet specified standards.
The Bawal Factory is an important production hub for the Paramount Bed Group in India and began operations in 2024. From the construction and expansion phases, environmental considerations were incorporated into the design philosophy of the facility. The factory has promoted initiatives aimed at sustainable operations, including energy conservation, effective water resource utilization, waste reduction, and the development of a safe and comfortable workplace environment. The IGBC Gold certification recognizes these comprehensive efforts.
India’s rapidly growing economy faces increasing environmental challenges, including air pollution, depletion of water resources, and waste management issues. Against this backdrop, PIN positions the reduction of environmental impact and the creation of a safe and healthy workplace as key priorities and continues to promote the development of sustainable manufacturing facilities.
The Company established its Indian subsidiary in 2012 to meet the growing healthcare demand driven by India’s rapidly expanding population. In 2017, the Company began producing medical beds at an assembly plant. In 2024, the Bawal Factory was launched, expanding the site area by approximately five times and doubling production capacity, thereby establishing a localized production system that supports the entire Indian market.
Under its brand message “WELL-BEING for all beings,” the Company will continue working toward the realization of a sustainable society by promoting environmental responsibility while enhancing technology and product quality, serving communities locally and globally.

India’s rapid economic growth has brought increasing environmental risks, including severe air pollution. As a result, companies are strongly expected to reduce environmental impact, create safe and healthy workplaces, and utilize resources and energy efficiently.
In response to these challenges, the Bawal Factory has actively promoted environmental protection, energy efficiency, and occupational health and safety by complying with relevant regulations such as EPR, and by acquiring certifications including IGBC and ISO. Moving forward, we will continue implementing effective environmental and safety initiatives as a company that grows together with the local community.
