Turning bed mattresses, which are difficult to dispose of, back into resources—a co-creation initiative by three companies

In Japan’s aging society, demand for bed mattresses is expected to increase, as is the volume of discarded mattresses. At the same time, mattresses are difficult to treat as waste, and Japan still does not have a recycling system for mattresses. To solve this social issue, we are working with Mitsui Chemicals, Inc. and Rever Corporation on a project to reproduce new mattresses from used mattresses. The three companies will advance discussions and demonstration projects aimed at achieving a recycling-oriented society.
